Depart gateway city.

Day 2

Arrive in Buenos Aires

You will be greeted at the airport by Coddiwomple Journeys guide who will help transfer you to your hotel. Day at your own leisure.

Day 3

Buenos Aires

Go on a city tour that highlights mansions and parks of Palermo and the Bohemian district of La Boca. End the evening by visiting the city’s tango Houses for dinner and a performance.

Day 4

Ushuaia

Fly to Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost urban center. Upon arrival, we visit the Tierra del Fuego National Park, a 155,676-acre nature preserve with Andes peaks, rivers, glacial lakes, forest and wildlife. After lunch on our own and time at leisure in this city, we embark our ship, Stella Australis for 3 nights and 4 days to set sail to the Beagle Channel.

Day 5

Cruising to Cape Horn/Wulaia Bay

We will see up close the world’s last unspoiled frontiers as we sail though Murray Channel and Nassau Bay while seeing sea lions and Antarctic fur seals along the way, to Cape Horn National Park. Cape Horn rises some 1400 feet from the water below and it’s the spot where the Atlantic and Pacific merge.
We will also take a guided walk along Wulaia Bay. (B, L, D)

Day 6

Cruising – Pia Glacier/Giribaldi Glacier

Overnight we continue our Patagonia glacier tour around the western end of Tierra del Fuego via the very narrow Gabrial Channel, Magdalena Channel and Cockburn Channel. In the morning, we enter Pia Fjord and board the Zodiacs for a shore excursion to Pia Glacier.
Later we will take a short hike to see a panoramic view of the spectacular glacier. (B, L, D)

Day 7

Cruising – Agostini Sound – Águila Glacier/Cóndor Glacier

In the morning, we cruise through several channels to enter spectacular Agostini Sound to see massive glaciers flowing down the mountainside. Later we will take inflatable Zodiacs to Aguile Glacier, which we can get to by an easy walk on the shore of the lagoon. (B, L, D)

Day 8

Cruising – Magdalena Island – Arrival in Punta Arenas, Chile

Early in the morning we will visit Magdalena Island, home to a colony of more than 120,000 Magellanic penguins. Then we will cruise to Punta Arenas, where we will disembark and board a coach for the journey to Torres del Paine National Park. Hotel: Costaustralis Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 9

Torres del Paine National Park.

We will see the breathtaking Torres del Paine, a 700- square mile World Biosphere Reserve and the world’s leading unspoiled nature preserve. We will spend the day exploring the unparalleled landscape of jagged peaks, ice-blue glaciers, turquoise lakes, rushing rivers and thunderous waterfalls. We will visit the Lago Grey, site of the massive Grey Glacier. Hotel: Costaustralis Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 10

Santiago.

Transfer to Punta Arenas Airport for flight to the Chilean capital Santiago. Rest of day is at your leisure. Hotel: Atton Las Condes Hotel (B, D)

Day 11

Casablanca Valley, Valparaiso and Vina del Mar

As we drive from Santiago to Valparaiso, we will go through Chile’s famous wine making area of Casablanca. We will stop at a winery for a tour and tasting. We will continue to Valparaiso and Vine del Mar and tour the historical city, beaches and main attractions. We will end the evening with a farewell dinner.

Day 12

Extend your trip to the Atacama Desert for 3 nights/4 days.

Arrive in San Pedro de Atacama and transfer to your hotel.

Day 13

Death Valley and Moon Valley

In the morning, we will drive up to 2600 meters above sea level to see the spectacular volcanoes. We will then descend into the Death Valley, one of the driest places on earth. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will drive to Moon Valley and walk the great geological spectacle, repeatedly compared to the surface of the moon. We will observe sunset to truly see the kaleidoscope of colors that appear over the Andes.

Day 14

Excursions to Toconao, Altiplanics Lagoons, Chaxa and Salar.

We begin by departing to the Meñique and Miscanti, Altiplanics Lagoons. On route we will see the Licancabur Volcano and some native trees such as tamarugo and the chañar. We then arrive at the little Toconao village. Close to the quarry is the Jerez valley, with a stunning, green contrast to the surrounding desert landscape. Then, we cross the small Socaire village and head to the Meñique and Miscanti, Altiplanics Lagoons. Finally we visit the Salar de Atacama and the Chaxa Lagoon before returning to San Pedro for dinner.

Day 15

Excursions to Tatio Geyser and Machuca

We will early in the morning from the hotel to the Geyser del Tatio. Enjoy a picnic style breakfast and have a guided stroll through the geothermal field to see the geyser and pools of boiling water and mud. Once the sun has risen, we move to the area of the hot springs for a rejuvenating soak in 40°C water. Later stop to see a small colonial town called Machuca located in Atacameño. We will then go back to the hotel to freshen up and transfer to the airport to fly back to Santiago for your connecting flights home.
