Departing every Saturday, this 11-day/10-night trip features the best of the best of Peru for those visiting for the first time. Start in historic Lima- the colonial capital with a unique architectural flair, exquisite restaurants and a harmonious synthesis of historical richness, museums, traditional quarters, galleries and a vibrant nightlife. Then on to Cusco- the gateway to the mystical Sacred Valley Machu Picchu. Here, revel in ancient Incan history, its many conquests, its disappearance and finally its discovery in the early 1900’s. Lake Titicaca in Puno will leave you inspired for more with descendants of the Inca’s living on 40 well-preserved floating islands.

Sunday – Cusco

Flight to Cusco. Arrive at your hotel and later, a walking tour of this historic city.

Day 3

Monday – Sacred Valley

Travel to the Sacred Valley- one of the most important centers for its historic wealth and learn about its strategic importance for the Inca Empire. Choice of Hotel (B,L)

Day 4

Tuesday – Aguas Calientes/ Machu Picchu

Board a luxury train (the Belmond Hiram Bingham) to Aguas Calients (“hot water” in Spanish). Upon arrival, take in the wonders of the ancient Machu Picchu Empire who built this citadel as a place of worship for the Inca king. Choice of Hotel (B,L)

Day 5

Wednesday – Aguas Caliente to Cusco

Today you have a choice of visiting Machu Pichu for the second time. Return via tha Vistadome trail and visit the Oliantaytambo Ruins. Arrive in Cusco. Choice of Hotels (B)

Day 6

Thursday – Cusco to Puno (by train)

Morning departure by train (Belmond Andean Explorer) to Lake Titicaca (Puno). The Belmond Andean Explorer train travels along one of the highest train routes in the world, crossing through breathtaking cities on its way from Cusco to Lake Titicaca (Puno) and Arequipa, and exploring natural wonders and ancient kingdoms. On the first day, visit the magnificent stone and clay temple in Raqchi. Overnight on Train (B,L,D on board)

Day 7

Friday – Puno to Arequipa

Indulge and immerse in the splendor and spirit of the lake at Titikaka surrounded by stunning scenery and astounding Andean geography. Visit the Uros Floating Islands and interact with the descendants of the Incas. Overnight on Train (B,L,D on board)

Day 8

Saturday – Arequipa to Colca Valley

Early morning breakfast and depart for Colca Valley with stops at the Saracocha and Sumbay Cave paintings that feature more than 500 paintings and engravings of local wildlife

Day 9

Sunday – Colca Valley to Arequipa

Before returning to Arequipa, stop by the “Cruz del Condor” and the hanging tombs called Tumbas colgantes”. Choice of Hotel (B)

Day 10

Monday – Arequipa to Lima

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Choice of hotel (B)

Day 11

Tuesday – Depart

Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
